First Day of School

So Monday was the first day of school. Josh started 2nd grade and Rebekah started Kindergarten. (sniff sniff) I no longer have any children at home....both are now in school. Time has continued to march on....against my will at times.

Fidel surprised us that morning by arriving early to see the kids off to school. My dad also came since it was Rebekah's first day. When Josh first started school (pre-k) he came to see him off. he did the same for Rebekah. here is a pic of Del and the kids. They were excited about school and excited to see him.
This is all of us. It was also my first day with my new class.

Bekah with Papa Todd's hat! she was so cute!!!

sigh. yes, in kindergarten. I must admit. I didn't cry at first...but only because I was distracted with being at work myself. However....I did choke up when I saw her with her class a little while later.

Josh lined up outside with his class. he wasn't so sure about school. he really liked it when I homeschooled him in kinder and sometimes tells me "I just want to do school at home with you, Mommy." lol....

Del took more pics for me since I was technically supposed to be working and not just hovering over my babies. I thought this pic was funny because Josh is yawning. lol...a little too early for him? Here he is walking into the building with his classmates.

And here Josh is in his class room. The classes are set up in pods. So, since Josh is in 2nd grade and I teach 2nd grade, we are in the same pod..he's just 2 doors down. (well, technically there aren't doors, but you get what I mean.)

This is Rebekah's teacher, Ms. King. As soon as Bekah saw her and Del told her that was her teacher, Bekah walked right up to her and gave her a hug! Her is Bekah yawning in line!!

And so begins another school year for us. I like having the kids near by (however after school trying to get work done with them in the room with me is not an easy thing at times.) But I wouldn't have it any other way! it's great cause we go as a family and leave as a family. I have 18 students in my class so far. I am crossing my fingers I have a small class. We will see. My class is so well behaved...I am praying that it doesn't wear off too much!!!!!!! And all the teachers out there say "amen" with me. lol
God bless and goodnight!

Rebekah has a slumber party...

Since Rebekah was turning 5, we decided to let her have a slumber party. She got to invite 4 friends. She loves to have her toe nails painted so I offered to paint them. she asked for a spa pedicure!! lol...it tickles her feet.

Makenna was next in the foot spa. AAAhhhh, that feels good after a long day of playing.

Kaylin also wanted to have a turn in the foot spa.

While we were painting nails and taking turns in the foot spa (we being the lil ones), Jadyn showed up. I HAD to take a picture....she looked so cute and diva in her sunglasses. She was ready to hang with the girls.

So, Anna was dropping off Leyena and stayed for awhile. Noah doesn't let anything get in his way when he wants to try something out....so he wanted his turn in the foot spa. Which was funny...cause he only sat there for a minute.....

Before he decided it was more fun to try and SIT in the water!!! lol he got his shorts all wet. It was funny!!! Anna didn't think so! Well, maybe a little!

Before Noah left with his mommy, he got a hold of some of Josh's laundry...well...not quite sure what to do with these. And if you don't know...well you make it up!....

So he put them on his head!!!!! lol

My dad was a cool papa cause he brought over a bounce house for the kids to play in. Well, everyone was stinky so what's more fun than a bubble bath in the jacuzzi tub!! We loaded the girls in and they loved it!!

Makenna was the last one out. I think she was just glad to have it ALL to herself. She looks adorable here!!

I tried to get a group picture. My friend Vi dropped off her oldest, Stephanie (far left) and her 2 younger ones got to hang with us for awhile too. It was fun. So, here are the girls, clean from their bath, and in their pjs!

After that it was movie night! Movie choice of the night? Barbie of course!

Eli was asleep and Shannon was holding him. I thought this was a sweet pic.

Okay, so we made little beds in Bekah's room for all the girls. it was lights out at 10:30. this is right after I read a story and kissed each one goodnight.

Now you would think that after they painted nails, jumped in a bounce house, took a bath, watched a movie, ate popcorn and layed down at 10:30 that they would be READY to sleep. nnnnooooooo!!!! they stayed awake until after 12am!!!!! We finally had to say go to sleep or we'll separate you!! lol They went to sleep.
Then you would think that after sleeping so late, they would sleep in. Nope....up at 7:30. Ugh! lol
Bekah had a great time! And so did I. I hope it's something she remembers for a long time. =)

Tea Party, anyone?

A few weeks ago, we were invited to a tea party hosted by Makenna and Kaylin. So, I asked Anna to go with me and off we went. It was so cute! Liz, Makenna and Kaylin's mommy, (and my bff) set up a little table with little tea party sets. The girls dressed up and enjoyed pb and j, grapes, goldfish, and juice. Of course, the mommies helped as needed.
This is Noah. He didn't mind at all that he sat in a pink chair. He and Josh were the only boys....Noah didn't seem to mind. =)
What does a 7 year old boy weart to a tea party?? Well a Superman costume of course!! I think it helped him feel more manly around all that girly stuff. lol

This is princess Leyena. She was pouring herself some more "tea".

Princess Bekah. I had fixed her hair...unfortunately it didn't last long....She is pouring herself some "tea" as well.

This is just soooo cute!!

Okay, so I like to take pics with people at times. this is me and my Liz. =)

then I wanteda pic with Anna. I have to laugh at this picture cause it looks like I am squeezing anna like she was my dolly. lol! What can I say? I love my sis!

Kaylin and Liz.

Joshua and me. Unfortunately, he doesn't look much like me.....blonde hair blue eyes....brown hair brown eyes!

And that was our tea party!!!

Six Flags Friends and Family-More Fun!

We went to Six Flags with Jay and Shannon (my sis and bro in law) and some mutual friends! It was a lot of fun! Josh and Bekah stopped to pose for me. =) Jadyn enjoyed herself. She is almost always smiling!!! This was her first trip to Six Flags. =) I'm glad I got to share it with her.

It's Batman!!! Andrew was not so sure he wanted to be close to Batman! Bekah didn't mind!

Josh showing off his Superman pose. Sorry about the glare.

And what Joshua does, Rebekah likes to do. So here is her Superman pose. =) Or Supergirl as is her case. ;)

Joshua's birthday

I believe that I made the disclaimer in my last blog that I was behind. Well, that hasn't changed. lol I am just now blogging about Josh's bday and that was August 5th. here are some pics....lol I know, I know. Rebekah's bday is Sunday, hopefully it won't take me as long to post those pics either.!

Okay, so for some reason, the kids felt like putting on their old costumes...so here is Super Girl!

Joshua was very excited to open presents. So excited...that he wanted to open presents before we sang happy birthday and cut the cake. =)

Fidel and I got Josh a Wii for his bday. It's actually for both of the kids...but Josh to open it on his bday. Bekah gets to open a game we got them on hers. Needless to say...he was excited..but he already knew he was getting this. He was MORE excited about the Halo Lego set his Uncle Ben and Aunt Kathy got him. =) lol
Here's the yummy cookie cake he picked out. Happy Birthday! I hope he made a wish!
Before I move on...I have to explain something. See the phone in the pic? The one kind of held mid-air next to the gift bag? Well, that's Philip and Anna on speaker! lol....they couldn't be there on Josh's bday cause they were in Temple, so they wanted to be on speaker when we sang to Josh. They sang right along with us! It was very sweet! =)

A better picture of the cake.

Joshua got so many texts, phone calls, and well wishes on his bday. Even on my facebook page!! I read everyone of them to him. He loved it. Thanks for those who called, texted, or posted comments. it was special to him (and to me!)
Well, off to work! Have a great one!

A tribute to Dr. Feelgood

Philip, my brother-in-law, got into medical school. He's been working hard for years to get in (getting in is NOT an easy thing). Unfortunately, the school he was accepted into is in Temple, TX. This is about 2 hours away from us. sooo, he bought a house and moved down there and for the next 4 years that is where he will live. He comes home on weekends when he can and Anna and the kids go down there on the other weekends. Philip came home this weekend for the first time in like 3 weeks or so. I have to admit, I do miss seeing him. =) His first week of school, they had a white coat ceremony. this is where all the students get their white student doctor coat things. I got to spend the weekend with him and the family and attend this ceremony. It reminded me of a graduation ceremony...except instead of diplomas they got white coats and instead of finishing the program....well, he's just getting started. He brought it to my attention today that he reads my blogs regularly and was wondering when I was going to put his ceremony in my blogs. I very well planned to, but got behind. So, in honor of Philip....here you go. =) (He's on his way to Temple right now.....I'm trying to post this before he gets home.) lol

By the way, the pics are not in order....that's just how they uploaded.

After the ceremony, we went to Olive Garden. Noah decided he was much more interested in what was under the table than what was on the table. =) So that's where he spent some time.

Again, after the ceremony, we of course took pics. So here is Philip in his coat. He said he wasn't smiling cause he was hot in his coat. Bummer...I think that he's going to be spending a lot of time in a white coat if you want to be a doctor.

aaahh, the soon to be doctor and his lovely wife and family. =)

He calls himself Dr. Feelgood. =)

Dad, Fidel Sr and the star. the girls insisted they be in the picture. =)

Recessional after the ceremony.

Ahh, yes. We spent the night there. Dad and I posing for a pic.

Dad was being funny. I made a comment about everyone but dad being on a laptop (next pic) and so I gave him my laptop and asked him to pose so that it looked like he was on the internet too. this is his pose. lol....nerd!

Again, we drove 2 hours to see Philip, and we all (but dad) get on our laptops. lol....technology. Dad was posing with my laptop since I wanted to take the picture.

So, that was the weekend of Philip's white coat ceremony. I am proud of him and know that he will do a great job in school.
I love you, Brother!!!!!!
ha ha...a blog just for you and all about you.
God bless!
